Matrise/Quilling Fund Information

The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha and Jeff Milkie would like to announce the creation of the Frank Matrise Jr. & Pat Quilling Sports Fund to benefit local athletes who are in need financially. This scholarship program provides assistance to youth from low income families who are interested in playing tackle football, indoor soccer, summer baseball/softball, or winter basketball at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha.

The foundation will provide scholarships for Kenosha’s youth to participate in BGCK sports at no cost, as well as provide support for new equipment as needed. Parents of local athletes can apply for scholarships on a quarterly basis.

Frank Matrise Jr. (1966 – 2019) was a teacher, dean, coach, husband, son, dad, and more. He coached football for 34 years; 19 years at Tremper and later at St. Joe’s. He also volunteered his time coaching youth football through CYC/BGC Sports. In 2016, he was inducted to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Pat Quilling (1936 – 2006) embodied the mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha and CYC Sports. He was pivotal in developing CYC’s Youth Football program, and has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of youth. His family was named Sports Family of the Year in 1987 and in 2002 the football field at CYC Park was dedicated in his honor. Quilling has been involved with the BGCK as a board member, volunteer, coach and benefactor since the 70’s. He was a veteran, husband, dad, grandfather, coach, and more.
